History and statistics
The Besançon-La Vèze aerodrome was created in 1968 by a group of local entrepreneurs.
Then the aerodrome became under the responsibility of the Doubs CCI, the aerodrome evolved and in 1994, 14 million Francs were invested to allow business jets to use the platform.
Again, in 2011, work was undertaken to upgrade the facilities to the new aeronautical standards. The runway was completely redone and the road "RD246" was modified in order to meet the requirements for clearing obstacles.
In 2015, the Doubs CCI handed over to the Syndicat Mixte de l'Aérodrome de Besançon-La Vèze (SMABLV), which manages the airfield.
Headed by Jean-Paul Michaud since 2020, the Syndicat Mixte aims to maintain and sustain the aerodrome.
